In his book A Fellowship of Differents, Scot McKnight expresses the belief that our local church experience often determines what the Christian life looks like for us. McKnight, like many of us – in one way, or the other – grew up in a church made up of mostly “sames, and likes.” The Church God designed, however – and the one we see modeled in Scripture – is meant to be “a fellowship of difference, and differents: a mixture of people from all the across the map, and spectrum.” This series will explore that idea; how to bring “unlikes, and differents” together, to share life with one another, as we serve the world with the life, love, mercy, peace, reconciliation, and justice of God that we see expressed in the life, and ministry of Jesus, and in the New Testament Church.
